Holding Tight

Heart-wrenching sobs.
Body bathed in sweat.
Arms holding me tight.

He passed by me. His eyes were slits and clearly holding back a dam. “What’s the matter?” broke it. His arms enveloped me and the sobs came on top of the other. All I can do is hold him close and let the hurt come out. Words weren’t important at that time. Or maybe, I just do not know the right words to comfort him thus I did what I only know, hold him tight.

After the worst of the storm passed, he said, “Happy Mother’s Day. I love you.”
